Wait - Psalm 62:5

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation [is] from him.

Today I went to my mother-in-laws home with my daughter. This was our first Friday visit which we will be making every Friday morning. Grandma is getting older and I and my husband have felt for sometime that we needed to be helping them out more. I thought I had it all figured out what need to be done but a dear friend reminded me to let God determine what was needed and in the process preserve Grandma's self respect. Grandma shortly after that informed me that she would love to have us come but not to work. Since Grandma had been valedictorian of her senior class she volunteered to assist me with my daughters school work while I could spend the time getting some much needed paper work done.
So this morning I was able to get to some long need organizing and balance my check book. I also assisted them both when needed with the school work. Midmorning I went into her computer to check my on-line bank statement and ended up spending the next three hours cleaning up her computer. It was full of flags for every update that had come in over the last two years, anti virus software that was not functioning.... you get the picture. Computers need maintenance and updates taken care of which Grandma and Grandpa were not able to do. We had lunch together and all of us enjoyed the morning immensely.
My lesson? Wait: God knows what is needed to be done and I was able to do it with no imposition to my schedule or routine. My heart is happy: Grandpa was thrilled when he heard he could get on the computer now without the stress of wondering,"What in the world was wrong with my computer!" Grandma as well is thankful about the computer; my daughter was blessed by the time spent with her Grandma; and I was able to 'help' where it was really needed not just where I thought they needed it.
